SAHSOL Arranges Career Counselling Lecture for Law Students

Friday, December 11, 2015

Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) organised a career counselling lecture on December 8, 2015 for law students. The talk was delivered by an eminent lawyer, Mr. Ahmer Bilal Soofi, Advocate, Supreme Court of Pakistan, and founder of Research Society of International Law (RSIL). He shed light on the importance of the legal profession.

While answering students' questions, he said that since the LUMS law programme is well-structured and law students are well trained (which he observed during their summer internships at his law firm), so he expected that these students could perform very well in the practical field of law as there is a dearth of competent lawyers in the country. Mr. Soofi emphasised that the practice at civil court is the base of the legal professions. He informed students that there are numerous opportunities for law students, they can work as prosecutors and almost all government department require good lawyers; in the foreign office, advocate general office, attorney general office etc.
