Friday, April 21, 2017

The Lahore Univeristy of Management and Sciences (LUMS) Singapore Alumni Chapter had an enjoyable evening on Sunday, April 16, 2017, when they held their annual reunion at the Shabestan and ate fine Persian cuisine.

It was a charming and lively reunion, attended by  Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Vice Chancellor, LUMS who warmly welcomed the alumni. Over a delicious dinner of Persian delicacies, the attendees caught up with each other’s lives, shared personal anecdotes, and reacquainted themselves with all that is developing at LUMS.

Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi shed light on the latest happenings at LUMS, sharing in particular, the university’s goals for increasing the budget for the National Outreach Programme (NOP) and expanding the spectrum of research at LUMS. The alumni, in turn were interested in how they could contribute to these goals and LUMS’ growth overall. They discussed ideas ranging from a monthly financial contribution of a small amount to the university, to running an innovative fundraising campaign. Spirits were high as the gathering indulged in reminiscing old times, brainstorming ideas of how to give back to their alma mater and had a great time with each other.

As the entertaining evening came to an end, the alumni showed enthusiasm to have such reunions more frequently and to meet up again in the near future.
