Networks and Systems Group (NSG)

Networks and Systems Group (NSG)

The area of networked systems explores how computing devices communicate and deals with the design of network architectures, protocols, and applications that enable such communication. The focus is on fundamental theoretical concepts in computer networks as well as its applications especially in the developing world. In particular, NSG carries out research in the areas of mobile web performance, cloud computing and datacenters, Internet censorship, wireless networking and ICT for developing regions. Faculty members in this area have published their research in the most prestigious conferences and journals in computer networking including ACM SIGCOMM, ACM HotNets, ACM CoNEXT, ACM IMC, ACM SIGMETRICS, IEEE INFOCOM, and IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking. The group also has several ongoing collaborations including with UC Berkeley, Brown University, Duke University, Northeastern University, Tufts University, and Max Planck Institute of Software Systems.
