The Teaching and Learning Initiative (TLI) at the Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education (SOE) organised its first field visit to the partner schools on Friday, October 12, 2018. The visit was organised as a part of field engagement component of the MPhil Education Leadership and Management programme.
The academic agenda for the first filed visit was “Observing Schools Environment.” Its main objective was to provide SOE MPhil students with a real world exposure to the diversity in the provision of education and enhance their skills for structured observation and documentation.
Following partner schools were visited:
• Usman Ideal Girls High School
• Allied School Pak Campus
• SICAS, DHA Campus
• Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust
• TCF, Radiant way Campus
• Rising Sun Institute for Special Education
• Royal Grammar School
• Ala-ud-Din Academy
• Beaconhouse Defence

The partner schools were welcoming and cooperative. They facilitated the students by allowing them to observe the classrooms and the school environment. The students took notes as they observed the school atmosphere for the purpose of writing reflection papers. A few partner schools were having exams which provided the students with an opportunity to see the standard operating procedures for conducting exams in those schools. Students were pleased with the exposure and consequential learning from the field visits. These field visits will continue throughout their first and second semester providing students the exposure to the diversity in the field of education.
