The Dean’s Honour List ceremony for undergraduate students of Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) was held on December 3rd, 2021. The Dean’s Honour List recognises outstanding academic excellence of students who score a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.60, and display integrity and good conduct.
A total of 231 undergraduate students from SDSB were honoured at the ceremony for Academic Year 2020-2021 at an event attended by more than 650 guests, including proud family members and friends, as well as LUMS administration and members of the Management Committee. This included 65 students from the SDSB undergraduate class of 2022; 80 students from the undergraduate class of 2023; and 86 undergraduate students from the Class of 2024.
In addition to being included in the Dean’s Honour List for AY 2020-21, SDSB students performed notably well at the University level. B.Sc. Management Science junior, Alina Anjum, was recognised as the top performer among third year students of all undergraduate programmes at the University, earning the “Chaudhry Nazar Mohammad Scholar” award. Hamza Said (B.Sc. Accounting and Finance) secured the second position overall among second year (sophomore) undergraduate students at LUMS. Marium Naeem (B.Sc. Accounting and Finance) secured the overall second position among freshmen (first year) students at LUMS.
Certificates were distributed by Rector LUMS, Mr. Shahid Hussain; Vice Chancellor LUMS, Dr. Arshad Ahmad; and Honorary Dean SDSB, Dr. Alnoor Bhimani. Addressing the audience, Mr. Shahid Hussain shared his personal experiences and remarked the importance of upholding the values that are part of LUMS culture and using knowledge gained from LUMS for the betterment of society. Dr. Arshad Ahmad shared the university’s mission and acknowledged student participation beyond academics, in exchange programmes and social initiatives. Honorary Dean SDSB, Dr. Alnoor Bhimani, highlighted how SDSB stood out as a regional leader in business education, and outlined future initiatives to positively impact business and society.
The ceremony concluded with hi-tea for participants and a photo session of students with family, friends, faculty members, and the Trustees.
