LUMS Alumni Highlight Pakistan’s Contribution to the FIFA World Cup 2018

Leave it to the LUMS alumni to show patriotism in the most interesting and passionate ways!

This year for the FIFA World Cup, a few LUMS alumni travelled all the way to Russia to watch the World Cup with the intention of enjoying the game as well as highlighting the contribution of Pakistan to the sport of Football.

The Adidas Telstar ‘18 is the official match ball of the FIFA World Cup and the LUMS graduates told the world, ‘We made the world cup balls’ with a large flag of Pakistan. Crowds of people gathered and appreciated Pakistan's contribution to the world of football. Pakistan is represented in all matches through the use of the official balls produced in Sialkot. The city of Sialkot is the world’s largest producer of hand-sewed footballs, manufacturing approximately 50 million footballs a year.
