Under its custom initiatives, the Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) conducted a 4-day tailor made programme, “Strategic Financial Leadership" from April 15-18, 2019 for a leading telecom. The programme addressed some of the unique challenges faced by the executives and emphasised the need to embrace changing business realities in context of digitisation and its implications for the finance function.
Led by Dr. Farrah Arif, Dr. Jamshed H. Khan and supported in teaching by Dr. Syed Aun Raza Rizvi, the programme exposed participants to the emerging trends of the industry and capabilities required to effectively service the group companies, evolve from traditional finance roles and establish themselves as strategic business partners of the organisation. The programme explored complementing themes to manage change and lean operations, journey from conventional to digital, changing financial models, navigating technological change in the organisation, the strategic role of finance, negotiating with partners for win- win solutions and establishing trust within teams for information sharing and value creation.
Over the course of the programme, senior experts from various functions of the organisation were invited to share their experience and knowledge in order the create relevance and address real problems within the company.
The programme emphasised on theory and industry’s best practices to help participants master complex challenges and capitalise on emerging opportunities. It provided a unique and dynamic opportunity to the participants for a transformational learning experience through hands-on exercises blended with classroom discussions on challenges and interactive simulation that paved the way for interactive discussions and idea sharing amongst the participants.
The programme was well received by the participants who appreciated the faculty’s area of expertise and ability to impart knowledge.
