NOP Representatives Reach Out to Bright Students of Hasilpur

Thursday, November 16, 2017

As the weather gets cooler, traversing on foggy roads and preparing for presentations on cold mornings would seem like a Herculean task. However what keeps the National Outreach Programme (NOP) Centre team going is the Centre's tireless search for talented yet underprivileged students.

The NOP team visited Hasilpur, Bahawalnagar, Chistian, Alipur and Vehari where 15 different colleges were visited and a total of 1870 students were reached. The Orientation sessions were held with first year Intermediate students of both the Pre-Med and Engineering streams and they were briefed about the various programmes at LUMS.

When asked about his thoughts about the NOP sessions, the Vice Principal of Daanish School, Chistian stated, “The yearly sessions held by LUMS at our school are extremely productive, informative and motivating. This year was no different.” He went on to express immense satisfaction at how students had become inspired to not only apply to the NOP but also widen their horizons as a whole. He also shared that when one student from a school or area manages to obtain the NOP scholarship, it vastly boosts the morale of other students to aim high as well.
