Dozens of professionals packed the Bellagio in Toronto, Canada for the Canada Alumni Chapter Reunion on Sunday, September 22, 2019.
The event venue was filled to capacity and provided guests with the opportunity to network with local business owners, recruitment professionals, academics and public officials. LUMS Vice Chancellor, Dr. Arshad Ahmad, was among the distinguished guests and gave a special address to the enthusiastic crowd. He highlighted various achievements and developments at the University and shared success stories of alumni, including that of Rizq, a venture where three alumni joined forces to fight against hunger in Pakistan and who credit their experience at LUMS for their success.
Local politicians and business leaders also spoke at the event including, Salma Zahid, MP (Scarborough Centre), Kaleed Rasheed, MPP (Mississauga East - Cooksville), and Dr. Rabiya Azim, co-founder and President of Minmaxx Realty Inc. Jan D. Weir, Business Law Faculty member from the University of Toronto was the guest speaker for the evening. Azim Rizvee (MBA 1998), President of the Canada Alumni Chapter capped off the evening expressing sincere gratitude to everyone who made the event successful. The reunion was also very generously sponsored by Rizvee’s company, Minmaxx Realty Inc., and would not have been possible without all his efforts.
The alumni had an enjoyable time reconnecting with the LUMS community, and shared that they are looking forward to staying up-to-date with their alma mater through more events in the future.
