Dr. Saba Pirzadeh, Assistant Professor at the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences, completed a research fellowship at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (RCC), at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany from June-August 2019. Her project focused on the linkages between water bodies, petro-violence, and environmental ethics in postcolonial fiction.
She was part of a cohort of environmental studies scholars from the US, UK, and Australia, who shared their research to advance discussions on the relationship between humans and nature. By bringing together scholars from various disciplines and national contexts, the RCC aims to internationalise the environmental humanities and to raise its global significance.
The Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (RCC) is an international, interdisciplinary centre for research and education in the environmental humanities and social sciences.
