A special Service Awards Ceremony was held on May 7, 2018 to honour and recognise the services of LUMS staff and faculty. The substantial contributions made by the staff and faculty are imperative for the advancement of LUMS and its mission of educating the masses. The Service Awards have been initiated to celebrate and recognise members of LUMS whose contributions to the University have set an example through their personal service to the University and have became role models for the rest of the LUMS community to follow.
Individuals who have been associated with LUMS for more than 10 years (some members have been with LUMS for 20 to 30 years), working for the vision and mission of LUMS, were recognised for their hard-work and dedication through these awards.
The Ceremony commenced with welcome remarks from the Head of Human Resources, Mr. Asif Iqbal and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi followed by the distribution of awards and certificates among the staff and faculty. Around 37 awards were distributed at the ceremony. Over a 100 people attended the awards ceremony and joined in to show appreciation to these long-serving members of the LUMS family.
Ms. Saira Bano Siddiqi, Manager, Finance Department expressed her happiness at being recognised, and said that she believes that LUMS is a very female-friendly environment, which is why she has served almost 11 years with the University.
LUMS acknowledges and gives credit to its community for making it such a huge success; the Service Awards are one of the ways LUMS recognises the dedication of its family.
