The LUMS Female Volleyball Team has been successful in securing second position at the HEC Intervarsity Volleyball Female Championship, held between March 28-April 1, 2018. This event was hosted by Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, and had teams coming in from different regions in Pakistan, making it a highly competitive forum to play on.
Despite the intense competition, the LUMS team gained victory in their first match, played against the University of Peshawar, by winning the first two sets, followed by winning the next match, in the same way, against UVAS. The quarter-final was tough as the University of Bahawalpur managed to win the first set, but the LUMS team displayed brilliance by winning the next two sets and becoming victorious. This winning streak continued during the semifinals, where NUST was overpowered by the LUMS team, who were triumphant again by winning the first 3 sets of a 5 set match. The LUMS team was finally defeated in the finals by Punjab University, despite having put in a very tough fight.
