Dr. Rahman Shah Zaib Saleem, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), recently delivered a talk at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, on his research work in the field of cancer therapeutics. He is developing small organic molecules to target cellular mechanisms like p53-MDM2 interaction, tubulin dynamics and centrosome clustering. In his talk, Dr. Saleem presented his on-going work in these areas and showcased the potential of these compounds as potential adjuvants to improve current therapeutic practices. He also presented the impact of targeted delivery of these compounds to the cancer site and his work on developing novel ligands for tuning the properties of nanoparticles.
During his visit, Dr. Saleem met several faculty members of the university and also visited various on-campus facilities.
