The celebrations of the Convocation 2014 ceremony kicked off an evening earlier, on Friday, June 20 with the Graduate Night Dinner, which is a LUMS tradition. It is held to celebrate the academic success of the graduating class in a fun, festive gathering.
Dr. Sohail Naqvi, Vice Chancellor, LUMS addressed the students at the event. High achievers of the batch received recognition in form of the National Management Foundation (NMF) medals, corporate medals, and deans’ honour list plaques. Graduating LUMS students who were receiving medals and those with official invitations were invited to attend. The gathering gave the opportunity to get together with fellow students and faculty and share memories one last time before the convocation.
To add to the festive spirit, the LUMS Alumni Relations Office had set up a truck art themed photobooth for the new graduates, who had a fun time getting pictures taken in the booth, with and without some very interesting props designed by the Alumni Relations Office.
The graduates were welcomed to LUMS Alumni Network by the Alumni Relations Office team, who introducing them to the functions of the Office, the activities it conducts, the benefits it offers and ways to stay connected to their alma mater.
