US Consul General, Elizabeth Trudeau visited the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on October 18, 2017. Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Vice Chancellor LUMS and representatives from the Office of Marketing and Communications welcomed the US Consul General.
Dr. Naqvi and US Consul General talked about the long term association of LUMS with US and how it has evolved over the years. A general discussion took place on promoting awareness of Pakistan's educational system and future academic collaborations that could be explored at an institutional level among Pakistani and US universities.
Consul General was then taken on a campus tour while being briefed about the University, its schools and the programmes that are offered. As she was shown around different building and facilities at LUMS, she was greatly impressed by the beautiful and vibrant campus. She visited the National Incubation Centre where she met with the Centre’s staff members and was introduced to the current batch of incubated start-ups.
The Consul General took a keen interest in the Center’s incubated start-ups and praised the National Incubation Centre as a great example of an entity that is giving entrepreneurs the tools they need to turn their bright ideas into real businesses that can transform Pakistan’s economy.
Ms. Trudeau said, “It was wonderful meeting with the Lahore University for Management Sciences Vice Chancellor, Dr. Naqvi and the NIC team. We are proud of our many collaborations with LUMS, including a women's entrepreneurship programme in partnership with the American University.”
