Globalisation has led to evolution and augmentation of supply chains beyond traditional boundaries. The 4-day programme on Supply Chain Management which concluded on April 7, 2017 was directed by Arif I. Rana, co-directed by Shakeel Sadiq Jajja and supported in teaching by Jamshed H. Khan. The programme focused on the strategic management of value chain partners and provided insights on strengthening these links to establish a company’s competitive advantage.
The programme highlighted the key areas related to procurement process, developing and leveraging suppliers and the Bill-Whip effect in supply chains. A pedagogical mix of case studies and team based exercises were used to illuminate capacities such as forecasting and uncertainty management, distribution, logistics and transportation planning.
“The supply chain programme is innovatively setup to increase the capacity of participants in a short but rich training session,” said a programme participant.
