SDSB Faculty Represent LUMS at the European Foundation for Management Development Conference

Dean, Dr. Jawad Syed and Dr. Syed Zahoor Hassan represented Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at the “European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Conference 2017 for Deans & Directors General”. This conference was hosted by the University of Ljubljana, on 2nd & 3rd February 2017 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. At this conference, the Professors interacted with officials and accreditation specialists of the EFMD as well as Dean & Directors from some of the best universities and business schools across the globe; including Ivey, Cass, Hong Kong Management University. The topics under discussion included current steps towards international accreditation, business engagement, excellence in research and teaching, and tenure standards. 

EFMD is a Management Development Network which is an international, not-for-profit, membership organisation of business schools and corporations, based in Brussels, Belgium, with offices in Asia and the Americas. EFMD boasts nearly 900 member organisations from academia, business, public service and consultancy in 86 countries. EFMD is recognised globally as an accreditation body for quality & impact assessment in management with established accreditation services for business schools and business school programmes, corporate universities and online courses.

EFMD operates the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), which is one of the leading international systems of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. SDSB has recently renewed its membership of EFMD and is in early stages of lodging an application for EQUIS accreditation.
