Acasus is a small consultancy dedicated to helping governments improve their education and health systems. Their objective is to help them make real and substantial improvements in the education and healthcare of millions of people.
They are based in Hong Kong, Dubai and Lahore, and are working on high-profile projects in the health sector in Pakistan. They are rapidly expanding and have also recently completed projects in Peru, Geneva and Nigeria.
They work in small teams which support the most senior officials in government (typically at ministerial or prime-ministerial level) to drive rapid reforms. Much of our day-to-day work involves helping officials to
• Plan and develop strategies
• Monitor progress
• Use data and other information
• Build capacity and skills throughout the system
• Improve coordination and cooperation
• Solve problems and challenges as they arise
• Access international evidence and lessons about what works
Their team include a mix of experienced consultants from leading international consultancies and locally-hired staff. Their success depends on being able to attract good people, and then, more importantly, provide them with high quality professional development to enable them to quickly become effective. Consultants on teams work full-time on a single project. Their work is varied and includes both policy and strategy work at the office and a lot of frontline field work to understand and drive implementation at the ground level.
