he Career Services Office (CSO) and Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) organised a Law Open House for the graduating Law Class of 2016 and Senior Law Class of 2017. The Law Open House took place on Saturday May 07, 2016 at the Asifa-Irfan Moot Court Room, SAHSOL. Law students participated in the event enthusiastically and appreciated it.

Dr. Ali Qazilbash, Chair, SAHSOL welcomed the law firms and told them the core purpose of this session is to provide an opportunity to students and law firms to interact with each other on a one-on-one basis, so they could discuss the future prospects of careers in the field of law. He explained that the LUMS Law School offers diversified courses, from business law to political sciences. He further shared the history of the Law school and explained that the Asifa Irfan Moot Court is the first moot court which is the replica of Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Courtroom No. 1. He further shared the distinguishing features of SAHSOL and informed the audience about the foreign qualified and experienced faculty on campus. Dr. Qazilbash said that LUMS is proud of its Law students as they have gained admission to Harvard Law School, University of Berkeley, University of Oxford, Columbia University, and University of Notre dame. Around 6 to 7 students also received internship opportunities at the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Prof. Ms. Maleiha Malik from King’s College of London also shared her experiences at SAHSOL. She said that she was pleased about the open house where students got the opportunity to interact with law firms representative to discuss their career paths. She explained that the legal future of Pakistan lies in the hands of law students and they have to play a positive for its development.
The law firm representatives introduced their firms, shared their experiences in the field of law, and discuss the career opportunities in their law firms. They also shared tips for success with the students.
Later all representatives of the law firms went to discussion rooms where students met with them in groups to discuss career prospects in their firms. Students also shared their resumes with the law firm representatives. A few law firms also conducted interviews of students for the purpose of recruitment.
