On Friday, October 1, 2021, a "Conversations with Changemakers" session was held at Suleman Dawood School of Business - LUMS. Hosted by Honorary Dean, Dr. Alnoor Bhimani, the session was attended by Ms. Olivia Campbell (Deputy Director Trade at the British High Commission). The United Kingdom is one of Pakistan's major trade partners, with Pakistani exports to the UK reaching USD 1.73 Billion in 2020. The major chunk of exports is comprised of textiles and textile products. Ms. Campbell shared insights on the UK's current trade policies, as well as the potential impacts of Brexit. She also highlighted the British High Commission's increasing presence in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore; and shared successful examples of building trade partnerships with Punjab-based businesses such as organising virtual trade fairs. She further highlighted opportunities for investment and growth, particualrly in emerging sectors of healthcare and education. In terms of Climate Change, the UK government is collaborating with public and private sector stakeholders in Pakistan, including projects on wastewater management. Ms. Campbell's presentation was followed by a Question and Answer session with students. The event concluded with a note of thanks by the Honorary Dean.
