Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) conducted its hallmark open programme, ‘Enhancing Board Effectiveness: Director’s Training Programme in October 2018. The Programme was offered in two modules comprising of two days each to cover pertinent areas for Corporate Governance and was attended by owners, CEOs and Directors from various industry sectors including the Power Sector, Oil and Gas, Food and Beverages, Banking and Financial Services.
Led by Programme Directors, Khalid A. Mirza, Professor of Practice, Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) and Anwar Khurshid, Professor, SDSB and supported in teaching by Syed Mubashir Ali, Associate Professor, SDSB and Muhammad Shafique, Assistant Professor, SDSB, the Programme addressed the unique challenges faced by Boards such as regulatory compliance, financial resilience, maximisation of shareholder value, risk management and leadership challenges of the top team.
Discussion based case studies, interactive simulations and projects were blended with classroom facilitation to make the participants familiar with governance challenges and issues faced both globally and locally. The Programme was very well received and commended by participants.
