The bright and brilliant community of the LUMS Boston Alumni Chapter held a one-dish chai meet-up on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at the Leverett House in Boston, USA.
The reunion was attended not just by a diverse body of alumni, but also by a number of esteemed LUMS affiliates, including two members from the LUMS Board of Trustees, Osman Waheed, CEO Ferozesons Laboratories, and Shahid Hussain, CEO Servis Ltd.
The afternoon commenced with a welcoming reception, which was followed by a delicious hi-tea, and a subsequent interactive discussion among the alumni and the valuable LUMS community members, making the gathering a larger and livelier affair. The attendees engaged in insightful discussions about all things LUMS, with the alumni sharing their perspectives on the University’s strengths and weaknesses. Alumni were in high spirits throughout because reunions such as these provide them with the opportunity to exchange important ideas about LUMS and contribute to its long-term development.
The skillful organisation and facilitation of this event was largely due to the support of the Boston alumni ambassador, Bilal Ahsan Malik, MBA 2005, his wife Rabia, and many alumni volunteers. The Office of Alumni Relations extends its deepest gratitude to these alumni for their continued commitment to their alma mater, and for upholding the LUMS spirit of giving back.
As is with all reunions, it opened positive pathways for engagement in the future, and reinforced the Boston Alumni Chapter’s members’ desire to stay connected both with each other and their alma mater.
Such a positive and constructive reunion goes a long way in bringing our alumni together and this reunion has helped galvanise the LUMS community in and around Boston, resulting in a vibrant and ever-expanding chapter in the area. It was an entertaining noon for all, and the alumni eagerly await their next meet-up.
