Dr. Tania Saeed, Assistant Professor at the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS) was selected to participate in a two-week summer school on 'Religious Diversity and the Secular University' at the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH), University of Cambridge from July 2–13, 2018. The summer school brings together nineteen junior scholars from across the world to engage in questions of secularism and religious diversity in the modern university.
In addition, Dr. Saeed is also one of nineteen junior scholars to be selected from amongst 200 applicants to take part in the 'Preventing Violent Extremism through Education' summer school at the Georg Eckert Institute (GEI) for International Textbook Research, Germany. The summer school brings together junior and senior scholars and practitioners from around the world to critically engage with PVE-E practices for the purpose of developing a comparative and interdisciplinary perspective.
Dr. Saeed has actively contributed to leading journals and is the author of the book Islamophobia and Securitization. Religion, Ethnicity and the Female Voice (2016, Palgrave Macmillan). She has a DPhil in Education from the University of Oxford where she was a Wingate Scholar (2011-2012), and an HEC Pakistan PhD scholar (2008-2011), and an MSc in Gender, Development and Globalization from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her area of specialisation is education and social justice within the context of the UK and Pakistan.
