LUMS hosted a delegation of the Mitsubishi Corporation on May 7, 2018. The members of the delegation included Mr. Takahisa Miyauchi, Mrs. Keiko Miyauchi, Ms. Moeka Harakaw, Mr. Kenichiro Hirai and Mr. Mahir Abbas.
The guests were welcomed by the Office of Marketing and Communications team and were given a tour of the campus. The guests visited the Coca-Cola Aquatic Centre and appreciated LUMS for being the only University in Pakistan with a FINA approved swimming pool of international standards.
The guests then went on to the National Incubation Centre (NIC) where they met Mr. Faisal Sherjan, Director Operations NIC and took a tour of the Centre. Later at the Physics Lab, the delegation met Physics faculty members, Dr. Falak Sher and Dr. Sabieh Anwar. They took a tour of the Lab and took a keen interest in the ongoing experiments.
The delegation also met Electrical Engineering (EE) Department faculty, Dr. Nauman Ahmad Zafar at the EE Lab and took a tour of the facility.
The guests networked with the LUMS management, faculty and friends over lunch at the Executive Dining Hall (EDH). Pro Chancellor LUMS, Syed Babar Ali, along with prominent members of the LUMS family including Dr. Shahid Masud, Dean Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering; Dr. Kamran Asdar Ali, Dean Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. Jawad Syed, Dean Suleman Dawood School of Business and Mr. Zia Chishti, Chairman and CEO TRG (The Resource Group) along with Dr. Ihsan Ayub Qazi, Chair Department of Computer Science had a fruitful discussion about possible collaborations between Mitsubishi Corporation and LUMS over lunch.
