To honour the remarkable contribution of women to the community on the International Women’s Day 2018, the department of Human Resources (HR) at LUMS organised an informative yet fun-filled event on March 9, 2018. This was exclusively arranged for the female faculty and staff members of the University.
The event started with Ms. Maira Arooba Naeem, Senior Officer – Projects, Office of the Chief Operating Officer, inviting the panel speakers and moderator of the event to open the panel discussion. The inspiring guests included Justice (R) Nasira Javed Iqbal, Pakistani Jurist and Law Professor who served as the Justice of the Lahore High Court from 1994 to 2002 and President, Concerned Citizens of Pakistan Society, Ms. Mira Hashmi, Assistant Professor in Film Studies at the Lahore School of Economics, Ms. Sidra Zameer, CEO of The Cell Communicative Employability & Leadership Learning and Ms. Aneeqa Ali, a traveller, cyclist and owner of Mad Hatters, a travelling agency. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Mariam Chughtai, Associate Dean, LUMS School of Education.
Ms. Shanza Haider, Officer HR, later on took the stage and involved the audience in a lot of entertainment activities particularly planned for the day. The event ended on a joyous note followed by a hi-tea and giveaways to all the women present at the event.
