Students' Procession to be Part of LUMS Convocation 2014

Thursday, June 12, 2014

On Convocation Day 2014, all graduating students shall formally enter the convocation premises in the form of a procession.

Graduates from individual degree programmes shall be led into the premises on call from the Master of Ceremonies by their respective departmental coordinators. There will be great fanfare and graduates shall have the prime attention and recognition that they so richly merit.

Of course, this will mean greatly raising the level of discipline required from all quarters, especially all students.

Briefly, here is what students are required to do:

  • Arrive with gowns and caps well before the assigned time (6.30 am) in the early morning on June 21, 2014. The robbing and procession line-up is scheduled for the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) building basement for undergraduates and the ground floor for the graduates.

  • Go to the relevant programme desk where students shall be formally registered and affixed a line-up token. Please note that here students will need to verify identity.

  • All students shall be formed into programme groups at that location in time for the formal procession to commence.

  • To illustrate, the BSc Honours in Accounting and Finance (AcF) class shall collect in one group after robbing and registration, and immediately get lined up alphabetically. Coordinators shall be at hand to help students set this up.

  • The procession shall be lined up, starting with students from the PhD and the graduate programmes followed by the undergraduate programmes, alphabetically.

  • The overall line up shall be vis a vis school seniority, i.e. Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS), Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) and Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL).

LUMS is excited to work with students to make this convocation a memorable one!
