Understanding relevant laws can save organisations from litigious risk and enable executives to manage and expand businesses effectively. To address this market need REDC conducted a 3-day programme on Law for Business Executives from March 20 - 22, 2019. The programme aimed to help participants develop an understanding on how to utilise laws to protect and promote business interests, mitigate legal risks, dispute resolution mechanisms such as negotiation, mediation, arbitration for company's continuing growth and expansion.
Led by Programme Directors, Dr. Zubair Abbasi and Dr. Muhammad Azeem and supported in teaching by Khalid A. Mirza, Umer Akram Chaudhry and Ahmad Rafay Alam. The programme emphasised business law and related fields, covering topics from Global Value Chain, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Governance and Regulatory Compliance, Competition Law and Regulatory Compliance, Business Taxation and Dispute Settlement.
Participation from 14 well-known organisations from various industry sectors and business backgrounds enriched the learning experience. Well-known legal experts joined the programme as guest speakers and shared their insights in different areas relevant to the global law market.
Experiential learning through case studies and group discussions of realistic business opportunities and problems added an exciting learning dimension to the programme. Kashif Ali, Chief Technical Officer, Rousch (Pakistan) Power Limited, said “It was a well-conceived programme that helped enhance my capacity towards legal knowledge; thereby diversifying my knowledge base. 3-days are good enough to expose the audience like me to such diverse topics.
