The LUMS Career Services Office (CSO) organised an information session by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) at LUMS. Ms. Maryam Zahra Khan, Education USA Adviser, USEFP discussed facts and figures about the organisation. She shared that USEFP was established in 1950 by the government of Pakistan and the United States. She elaborated that USEFP is one of 51 'Fulbright Commissions' located throughout the world. The commission deals within three main departments, which are Scholarship Program, Prometric Testing Center and Education USA Advising Services.
Ms. Khan explained the procedure of applying for the Fulbright scholarship. Students were briefed about the eligibility criteria and the requirements. She advised the students to follow the exact procedure while applying, which included ensuring that the complete application is filled, preparing for the GRE, carefully reading and following the instructions at their website and editing the application before submitting. She also advised the students to search for Fulbright heroes from Pakistan on YouTube to see what made them successful and get inspired by them.
