A stimulating and awe-inspiring session by Mr. Abrar Hasan, CEO National Foods Limited was hosted by the LUMS Office of Development Team on December 8, 2017, the third in a series of events titled, Leaders at LUMS.
Adeel Hashmi, popular media personality took the stage along with Abrar Hasan as a Moderator. In this question and answer format session, Mr. Hasan started off by introducing the audience to his background, his drive towards hard work, dedication, and his greatest fear and the lack of respect for professionalism in the country.
Mr. Hasan stressed the importance of dedication and being a leader. When asked about what makes a good leader Mr. Hasan said, "A good leader is someone who gets the job done!"
When asked about LUMS, in particular, Mr. Hasan exclaimed that LUMS is at the forefront of educating graduates with the right skill sets, stating that the quality of human resources LUMS puts out is exceptional.
Mr. Abrar Hasan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management and a minor in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, USA. He is a member of the Health Foundation, Children's Cancer Hospital and ATC. He is also a board member of the Pakistan Business Council and Cherat Cement.
Mr. Hasan with his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge has set examples and inspired the National Foods Limited (NFL) team to embrace new technologies, discover upcoming marketing trends and invest in human resource development. He joined NFL in 1993 and in 2000, the Board of Directors appointed him as Chief Executive. Under his inspirational leadership and proficient operational management skills, NFL has transformed from a simple recipe producer to a multi-category food company. He is truly the driving force behind his team of skilled professionals at NFL.
The third session concluded on a positive note with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, thanking Mr. Hasan for taking time out and sharing his experiences and providing insight on what it takes to be a leader.
