LUMS Tennis Intervarsity Championship 2019 was hosted by the Department of Sports, Wellness and Recreation in collaboration with the student society Sports at LUMS (SLUMS). Eight of the best male and female Tennis teams came to LUMS on the September 25-27 to claim the winning prize. The championship opening ceremony was hosted by Dr. Adnan, Dean Office of Student Affairs.
After three days of jaw dropping tennis, exuberant sportsmanship, and fair gameplay, two warrior teams stood out from the crowd. The male team from University of Central Punjab came out victorious while in the female draw, Lahore College for Women University’s were crowned champions. Both LUMS teams played really well to reach the finals and came in second place.
The tournament was a great success and the organisors look forward to continuing this tradition of great tennis in the coming future as well. Babar Asad Khan, Head of Department, SWR, presented shield to the winners and gold medals to the runner-ups.
