The Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) UG Dean’s Honours List for annual year 2018 acknowledged the academic brilliance and hard work of 150 brightest students.
The event was held on Thursday, November 17, 2018 and was attended by a total audience of 500 people including the Rector, VC, members of management committee, dean, faculty and the parents.
The event started with the Rector, Mr. Shahid Hussain’s opening remarks in which he shared his experiences of his recent visit to US where he met LUMS alumni. He shared their accomplishments with the audience and said that they are serving at key positions in the top academic institutions and firms in the US. Furthermore, he emphasised on the importance to uphold the LUMS culture and values that the students have been able to benefit from and to extend it towards the betterment of the society in general.
Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, LUMS reflected on the University’s mission and highlighted the individual brilliance of existing student body through their participation in the bilateral exchange programmes, academics, social initiatives and service to the humanity.
Dr. Alnoor Bhimani, Dean, SDSB elaborated on the School’s vision to embark upon being the best in the region, along with the initiatives taken in this regard, including AACSB accreditation.
Later, the DHL award certificates were handed over to students by Mr. Hussain, Dr. Ahmad, and Dr. Bhimani.
Overall, top two positions from the Junior batch, second and third positions from the Sophomore batch and second position from the Freshmen batch were secured by SDSB UG students.
A huge number of SDSB students were placed on DHL for the annual year 2017-18.
The Ceremony concluded with a hi-tea for participants along with the photo session of parents with their children, faculty and trustees.
