The Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law hosted its Annual Career Fair and Networking Dinner on Thursday, April 12, 2018. The event this year comprised of two sessions: An Introduction to Legal Practice in the Asifa-Irfan Moot Court Room, followed by the Networking Dinner at the Executive Dining Hall.
The Career Fair initiated with a welcome note from the Dean of the Law School, Prof. Dr. Martin Lau, who then opened the first sessions: Introduction to Legal Practice - which was open to law students across the 5-year BA-LL.B (Hons.) stream for the first time. In this Session, representatives from all participating law firms (listed below) made brief presentations on their firm's area of expertise and shared interesting insights and anecdotes about their experiences in the legal industry. The conversation continued into the question-answer session, where students engaged the panel of lawyers by posing various poignant questions about career trajectories in and outside Pakistan in different domains of law, and the significance of an LL.M degree with respect to legal practice. The Session on Legal Practice ended with a brief word of thanks by the Dean, followed by students submitting their CVs for internships and job placements to participating law firms.
The lawyers and the graduating law batch (Class of 2018) were then invited to attend the Networking Dinner at the Executive Dining Hall. This dinner provided the graduating students an opportunity to further connect with the lawyers in a smaller setting, and address their additional queries.
