Ms. Neha Ali Gauhar, Teaching Fellow, Shaikh Ahmed Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL), received funding from the European Union’s Punjab Access to Justice Project to attend the 2nd Asia (BABSEACLE) CLE Summer School in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The 10-day Asia CLE (community legal education) training was attended by more than 50 justice educators from 16 different countries. The training focused on curriculum design for different types of CLE programmes, including in-house clinics, community teachings, and externships.
The 2nd Asia CLE Summer School is aimed to strengthen CLE programmes, access to justice and rule of law in the region by ‘bridging borders’ throughout Asia and globally.
Bridges Across Borders Southeast Asia Community Legal Education Initiative (BABSEACLE) is an international access to justice, legal education organisation that focuses on ethically oriented legal capacity development and community empowerment.
BABSEACLE has been working collaboratively with universities, law students, law faculties, lawyers, members of the legal community, and justice related organisational partners since 2003 to develop Clinical Legal Education (CLE) programmes throughout Southeast Asia.
