REDC Conducts a Senior Leadership Development Programme for the Election Commission of Pakistan

The Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) conducted a 6-day leadership programme for the Election Commission of Pakistan’s officers through a customised programme that covered leadership best practices along with essential elements of problem solving, decision making and prioritisation strategies. The objective of the intervention was to enable participants to take policy-related decisions, delegate and prioritise tasks effectively and efficiently.

Led by programme director Jamshed H. Khan and co-programme directors Jawad Syed and Muhammad Abdur Rahman Malik, it focused on leadership traits, result based management, negotiation skills and stress management. The main emphasis was on people management, creativity techniques, strategic thinking and gender equality. Through hands-on exercises and simulations, areas of change management and impact of leadership styles on group decision making were discussed in detail. The content was well received by the participants and they shared their learning through presentations and exercises.

The programme closed on a high note with the presence of the Chief Election Commissioner, Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza, UNDP Assistant Country Director, Amir Goraya, Pro-Vice Chancellor LUMS, Syed Babar Ali and Vice Chancellor LUMS, Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi.
