The Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) conducted a customised Management Development Programme (MDP) – Level 3 for Descon’s senior management. The programme took place from November 13 to 18, 2017 at REDC. It was led by Programme Directors Dr. Jamshed Hassan Khan and Dr. Anwar Khurshid and was supported by Dr. Syed Mubashir Ali and Dr. Jawad Syed. Industry giants like Syed Babar Ali, Abdul Razak Dawood and Asad Umar came as guest speakers and provided an interactive learning experience to the executives.
By integrating key functional disciplines, this programme helped participants develop the capability to envision, influence, control and implement the strategic direction of the organisation. The programme aimed to expand their knowledge across all functional areas and develop a holistic management perspective. The objective of MDP was to create successful general managers who can compete and succeed by leveraging their own and their organisations’ inherent strengths in an integrated manner.
Discussion based case studies, interactive simulations and projects were blended with classroom activity to impart learning which reinforces functional knowledge and bridged core management areas of marketing, finance, operations, technology, leadership and team management with a view to create functional synergies. The programme was well received by participants.
