The Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) launched ‘Strategic Account Management,’ a programme for executives at Jazz from July 1-4, 2019. Over the course of four days, the sessions addressed the unique challenges faced by business consultants and emphasised the need to embrace changing business realities in the context of digitisation and its implications in today’s business landscape.
The sessions were conducted by LUMS faculty members, Dr. Muhammad Adeel Zaffar and Dr. Muhammad Luqman Awan, who led the programme, while Dr. Adnan Zahid, Dr. Abdur Rahman Malik and Dr. Moeen Naseer Butt supported in teaching. The programme exposed participants to the change in industry dynamics and the capabilities required to compete in a rapidly transforming industry. The sessions also detailed how to evolve from transactional roles and how participants can establish themselves as strategic business partners of their organisation.
The programme adopted a hands-on approach, where participants delved into case studies from the global market to explore various practices and tools used for improving business outlook and the associated trade-offs.
Speaking about his experience at the event, Muhammad Naeem, a participant, said, "It has cleared my concepts regarding digitisation, team and organisational behaviour through simulation and discussions.”
The programme also explored complementing themes on how to manage change and how the journey from conventional to digital mediums is impacting the market to adopt consultative selling. It also addressed navigating technological shifts in organisations, transformation at the individual level and establishing trust within teams to achieve the overall objectives of the organisation.
The programme was highly appreciated and participants expressed their satisfaction with the programme. Tahir Mahmood, Business Consultant at Jazz said, "This is a great opportunity to learn new things, and a new way to handle customers with technology.” A fellow attendee, Wahab Sarwar, also agreed and said, “REDC is an excellent place for learning.”
