REDC Conducts a Cross-Industry Management Development Programme

Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) held a two-week residential Cross-Industry Consortium of its flagship Management Development Programme (MDP) on September 3 - 13, 2018. The consortium consisted of participation from across three industries i.e. fertiliser, cement and telecom. Designed as a transformational learning experience for senior managers, the MDP consortium provided participants unique opportunity to understand holistic management perspective in context to their industry dynamics.

Directed by Dr. Jamshed H. Khan, Professor (SDSB) and Dr. M. Adeel Zaffar, Assistant Professor (SDSB) and joined by teaching faculty Dr. Anwar Khurshid, Professor (SDSB), Dr. Arif N. Butt, Professor (SDSB), Dr. Ehsan ul Haque, Professor (SDSB), Dr. Jawad Syed Dean and Professor (SDSB), Mr. Khalid A. Mirza, Professor (SDSB) and Dr. Syed Mubashir Ali, Associate Professor (SDSB), the programme assisted participants in gaining valuable insights from cross-industry interactions and networking opportunities with like-minded people from different backgrounds and experiences.

MDP provided participants with a cross-industry insightfulness, business acumen and functional knowledge and understanding that how diverse functions contribute to organisational efficiencies and competitiveness. The programme helped participants understand how industry structures work and evaluate how to strategically create value and profit for the operating units in a competitive environment.

Case studies, hands-on exercises, state-of-the-art business simulations and talks by high profile industry leaders are blended to ensure participants remain engaged and gain exposure on ‘best management practices on leadership and strategy, cross functional synergies, championing change, industry structures and competitiveness and developing value drivers for business performance.’
