To be a leader in highly volatile and globally competitive business markets requires individuals to envision and practice multidisciplinary leadership, and possess an end-to-end oversight of the business. Designed for the senior executives and business leaders, Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC)’s flagship two weeks long Management Development Programme (MDP) concluded on November 1, 2019.
Attributed locally and internationally for its transformational features, MDP enables participants to contribute beyond functional expertise and develop a holistic strategic management perspective, preparing them to transition into challenging general management roles. The programme is specifically designed to equip senior executives to envisage, influence and implement strategies that are of paramount importance for the ogranisation’s growth and future direction.
This year’s offering was led by Jamshed H. Khan and Muhammad Adeel Zaffar accompanied by acclaimed professors from Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) Adnan Zahid, Jawad Syed, Khalid A. Mirza, Syed Mubashir Ali and Muhammad Shafique. Using their expertise, the faculty were able to create a memorable learning atmosphere for the participants. Experts from leading industries and diverse backgrounds shared their leadership experiences and provided a comparison on global and local business scenarios.
The executives were housed at the REDC’s purpose-built residential facility. Together they engaged in an immersive learning experience that has been tailored creatively to be result oriented, rigorous and truly transformational. The programme follows LUMS-REDC’s hallmark participant-centred learning model with a brilliant mix of interactive discussions, case studies, simulations and group exercises along with other outdoor experiential learning activities designed to reinforce peer-to-peer learning.
With participation from top echelons of Banking/Financial Services, Consumer Products, Education, Food and Beverage, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, Hotel & Restaurant, Insurance, Engineering, Iron and Steel, Pharmaceutical, Printing & Packaging, Rice Processing, Telecommunications, Textile and Utilities, the programme provided unparalleled industry exposure and networking opportunities.
Muhammad Faizan from the Jubilee Life Insurance Company Limited said of the programme, “I had one of the most exciting times of my life. It is like going back to the MBA classes. The curriculum taught was well-linked and the simulations provided a flavour of real-life business situations.”
Muhammad Ahmad Khan of the Dawlance Group of Companies echoed similar sentiments, “It is the best Management Development Programme I have ever attended and I would recommend all management cadres to attend it at least once in their professional career.”
