PhD Mathematics Student Awarded Travel Grant by British Council

LUMS PhD Mathematics student, Saba Irum has been awarded the Pakistan Scottish PhD Travel Grant by the British Council to conduct her research at a Scottish University for three months.

The grant aims to facilitate female PhD students to carry out research in Scotland. The award is merit based and assessed against her strong application in terms of relevance to the home and the host country, contribution to the subject area and the impact and output of the research.

Ms. Irum, under the supervision of LUMS Mathematics faculty, Dr. Imran Naeem is working on Analytical Solutions of Differential Equations. She has joined Dr. Gabriel R. Barrenechea at the University of Strathclude, Glasgow, Scotland to develop and analyse a mathematical model of cancer invasion for the detection of optimal drug dosage scheme.
