Multan is known for the glittering tomb of Shah Rukn-e-Alam as well as the traditional delicacy of sohan halwa. However, amidst its neighbouring cities one finds promising students ardently pursing the goal of attaining higher education. Keeping this in mind, the National Outreach Programme (NOP) team set out to visit six different cities and towns around Multan to reach out to as many talented students as possible.
During the outreach, the team visited 21 colleges and presented to over 2,635 students. The audience were given an overview of LUMS, briefed about the NOP and instructed on how to apply for the NOP Summer Coaching Session. The presentations were often followed by interactive Q&A sessions where students inquired about the academics at LUMS and what it would mean to be an NOP Scholar.
The highlight of the outreach was visiting the Imam College in Qatalpur on the request of Syed Babar Ali to ensure that even the smallest cities were covered. Furthermore, the representatives were extremely impressed to visit colleges that had produced position holders in the recently held board examinations.
Preceeding its efforts, the NOP team hopes to receive many promising applications from Multan and its surrounding areas.
