Friday, October 21, 2016

The LUMS National Outreach Programme (NOP) Centre held information sessions in Abbottabad and the adjoining areas including Mansehra, Haripur and Murree. The primary purpose of this trip was to increase awareness and understanding about LUMS and its scholarship programme, the NOP.

During the outreach activity, the team visited 16 colleges and reached out to nearly 1175 students. Marketing collateral inclusive of flyers and posters were shared with the heads of the respective schools and colleges. Additionally, application forms were distributed amongst students who had secured more than 80 percent marks in their matric exams.

The sessions started off with an orientation about the history of LUMS, its vision and mission. The state-of-the-art campus, its world class faculty, the university’s undergraduate programmes and the extra-curricular opportunities offered in terms of sports and student-run societies were also discussed in detail. Interactive question-answer sessions concluded the events where prospective students actively asked about the various schools, activities, and facilities at LUMS.

The teachers and staff at all the institutions appreciated the efforts put in by LUMS NOP Centre for the cause of supporting academically bright students.
