Monday, December 2, 2019

The National Outreach Programme (NOP) is a prestigious scholarship that boasts immense diversity. Our NOP scholars come from over 122 cities across the country and belong to all minorities and ethnicities.

Continuing its mission of inclusivity and spreading the message of higher education, the NOP team journeyed to Interior Sindh. From November 19 – 22, 2019 they travelled through the cities of Khairpur, Mirpur Mathelo, Ghotki and Gambat, and interacted with more than 500 students across 6 different colleges. Majority of the students that were reached out to belonged to the Hindu community who were eager to know about the opportunities available to them at LUMS.

Students were informed about the various Undergraduate programmes at the University and were given a detailed overview of the NOP Online Application process. Engaging Questions and Answers sessions took place after each session, during which attendees inquired about the various academic and non-academic facilities at LUMS and their future prospects in terms of careers.

Feedback received from educators was extremely positive with Mr. Mazharuddin Jumam, Principal at Sajjad Model Higher Secondary School Khairpur appreciating the efforts of LUMS in reaching out to a vast and diverse body of students and informing them about the programme. Mr. Ibrahim Langraw, Principal at the Sona Public School Mirpur Mathelo too praised the effectiveness of the information session in motivating his students to apply.

The NOP team is confident of many bright young individuals applying from the region for the NOP Summer Coaching Session 2020.
