Termed as one of the most beautiful and well-planned cities in the world, the National Outreach Programme (NOP) representatives journeyed to the nation’s capital and conducted Outreach from January 7-11, 2019. This was the first Outreach visit of 2019 and was one full of reignited fervour to meet bright students across the country.

Keeping their base as Islamabad, the Team visited the additional cities of Fateh Jang, Attock, Rawalpindi and Taxila. A total of 16 colleges were visited and approximately 1400 students were reached.

The attendees of the various information session were provided information on the programmes offered at LUMS and were guided through the process of applying to the NOP Summer Coaching Session. Alongside Intermediate students, a large cohort of Matric students were also present within the audience, and specific focus was given to motivate them to work hard and obtain the desired percentage so they may apply next year. Another interesting facet was the focus given to career counselling where attendees were encouraged to spread their wings and think about pursuing a wider variety of fields especially in the realms of research.

The Outreach representatives got the chance to meet many educators, counsellors and management during their visits and feedback was obtained regarding the information sessions given. Colonel Ameeruddin Zafar at the Cadet College Fateh Jang praised the motivational and career-oriented approach to encourage students to apply. Principal Muhammad Nasim from the Army Public School Attock stated how beneficial the session was for students and staff alike and hoped such sessions would continue to be organised in the future. Vice Principal, Fariha Yasmin at the Ali Trust Cadet College in Islamabad wished the team well and promised that she would ensure all her eligible students apply for the NOP Summer Coaching Session this year.
