The National Outreach Programme (NOP) Centre kicked off its outreach in the cold, crisp mountainous air of Gilgit Baltistan. The reception of our NOP Team representatives, however was very warm and welcoming. Due to the precedent set by outreach efforts in previous years, the enthusiasm and eagerness to learn about the NOP was evident in all the participants.
Starting off in Gahkuch, stopping over in Sherqilla and Gilgit and ending in Hunza, our representatives visited 7 major colleges where a total of 775 students were briefed about LUMS and the NOP.
Participants were first briefed about the facilities at LUMS, what programmes they can apply to as undergraduates and they were then walked through the entire process of applying for the NOP Scholarship. Special focus was given to informing students about the new Online Application System the NOP is introducing this year. A Q&A session was held after each presentation and students were invited to voice any queries they might have.
