NOP Outreach Visit South Punjab

Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Outreach representatives visited the culturally rich and vibrant Southern Punjab region of Pakistan. The team conducted visits from January 14-26, 2019, in the cities of Hasilpur, Bahawalnagar, Chishtian, Vehari, Burewala, Bahawalpur, Mailsi, Alipur, Sadiqabad, Rahim Yar Khan and Khanpur. Within these 11 cities, they visited 34 colleges and interacted with almost 3000 students.

Our representatives were met with great enthusiasm and interest not only by the students but also by the school/college administration. After outlining what LUMS has to offer in terms of programmes and facilities, they went on to explain how students can apply to the National Outreach Programme. Detailed Question and Answer sessions followed during which students inquired about the selection criteria for the NOP Summer Coaching Session as well as the intricacies of the NOP Online Application.

Feedback was obtained from the various educators present during the information sessions. Ms. Saima Mushtaq, Senior Teacher at the Daanish School Girls, Hasilpur, commended the usefulness of the session and knew it would prove very beneficial for her students. Mr. Yasar Hameed, Senior Lecturer at the Government Post-Graduate College, Chishtian, stated that the opportunities being provided by LUMS are one-of-a-kind. Mr. Muhammad Azam, Senior Lecturer at the Sadiq Public School, Bahawalpur, vowed that he would urge his students to apply to the NOP and hopes such informative session will be conducted in the future as well.

With the large and diverse cohort of bright students that we have met in this wonderful region, we expect to receive many brilliant applications from South Punjab for our upcoming NOP Summer Coaching Session.
