National Instruments (NI) conducted a Recruitment Drive for the position of Application Engineer at LUMS. Mr. Ahmed Khalid, Country Team Lead and LUMS graduate of the batch of 2012 started the session with a brief introduction of the company. He proceeded to show a video that displayed the company’s working and its operations. He elaborated that they have their operations in more than 80 countries with 35,000 plus customers worldwide.
Mr. Khalid talked about the Grand Engineering Challenges in the world and about their projects with the Pakistan Army and Navy. Mr. Muhammad Kamran Ayub, Application Engineer at NI spoke about a member of NI’s team presently working on 5G technology. Mr. Ayub talked about the Career Progression of being an Application Engineer and said that an important part of being an Application Engineer is to ensure customer satisfaction by providing high quality technical support to its customers via phone call, email or onsite.
He also elaborated that new resources should collaborate with regional and global counterparts, manage customer issues for faster resolution as well as deliver technical presentations and web-based seminars at marketing and sales events. He shared that the company is looking to hire talent who could closely work with the sales team for customer competency improvement programmes. Later, Mr. Khalid explained the recruitment process.
The session ended with an interactive question and answer session followed by a written test.
