A delegation of Mitsubishi Corporation’s top leadership comprising Mr. Eichii Tanabe, Senior Executive Vice President, Mitsubishi Corporation, Mr. Kimihide Ando, CEO, Mitsubishi Corporation Pakistan, Mr. Daisuke Tsurumi, Team Leader, Asia and Oceania Team, Global Strategy and Coordination and Mr. Seiji Matsumoto, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Central Asia Global Strategy and Coordination visited Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on April 29, 2017.
Respected guests were greeted by Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Vice Chancellor LUMS, Dr. Shahid Masud, Dean, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) and Dr. Nauman Zaffar, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) at SBASSE. The visitors were given a detailed tour of the Energy and Power Electronics Research Lab at the Department of Electrical Engineering and were briefed about various undergoing as well as the completed projects related to smart grids and renewable energy. Guests were also taken to the newly built facility in SBASSE, established through Mitsubishi’s funding, where complete operations of the said lab will soon be shifted.
The delegation was welcomed over lunch by a group of LUMS scholars who have successfully completed WASEDA University Semester Exchange Program through funding of the Mitsubishi Corporation. Students were given a chance to interact with the senior leadership of a renowned conglomerate and benefit from their vast experience and expertise.
A post-lunch discussion session was arranged in EE Reading Room where prominent faculty members of LUMS, students of the University and honourable guests talked about different topics of mutual interest and discussed possible avenues for future collaborations between LUMS and the Mitsubishi Corporation.
