A four-week long immersion programme, Advanced Summer Learning Initiative (ASLI), is designed to benefit those who are struggling academically. With the support of the Gurmani Foundation, this summer, the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS) will train 87 students (completely funded) to aid in developing their reading/comprehension, writing, and communication skills in English, along with a focus on mathematics and critical thinking approaches.
Students will be attending specially designed courses (five hours a day, four days a week) with highly qualified faculty, participate in activities with peer mentors, and take weekly excursions to cultural sites. The programme started on Sunday, June 23, 2019 with an inauguration dinner where the students were introduced to the faculty, the administration and their peer mentors.
