To apprise with the educational potential of Pakistan, a delegation from the National Defence University visited the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on November 14, 2018. The visiting delegation comprised of around 40 members from friendly countries. This included officers from countries, like USA, UK, Brazil, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, China and others headed by Rear Admiral. Zain Zulfiqar, Chief Instructor, Allied Officers Division (CI AOD) at National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad.
The guests were welcomed by Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, LUMS, Mr. Amer Khan Durrani, Director, General Administration and Services (GAS-LUMS) and Marketing team. Dr. Arshad briefed the delegation about LUMS, its five schools and the programmes it offers.
The visit provided with an opportunity to inform about academic excellence and share different perspectives about different sectors. Additionally, they looked into various possibilities of how diverse and productive collaborations can be made that can strengthen different educational and industrial sectors.
Minhal Sheikh, Deputy Manager Marketing gave a brief presentation about LUMS. Moreover, the delegation was also given a campus tour headed by Sharjeel Muazzam, Assistant Manager Marketing where they were shown the various facilities, including the National Incubation Centre (NIC), all five schools and the sports complex at LUMS.
