LUMS AND UET TEAM SECURES 2ND POSITION AT DICE MEGA INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP EVENT 2016

A team comprising of LUMS and UET researchers and students, led by Dr. Safee Ullah, Dr. Amir Faisal and Dr. Khaled Mahmood ul Hasan secured second position at the DICE Mega Innovation and Entrepreneurship Event 2016 held at NUST. Team Tison, comprising students of the bioinformatics group at the Department of Biology at LUMS competed against 350 teams from across the country to reach second place. 

Distinguished Innovations, Collaboration and Entrepreneurship (DICE) is an organisation based in the USA. The organisation in collaboration with its domestic and international partners, is pursuing the DICE Program in Pakistan, which promotes Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the country. They aim to transform Pakistan into an innovation-driven economy. The partners of the DICE Program in Pakistan are: PCST, British Council, ISESCO, FPCCI, British Council, NUST, NEDUET, COMSATS, IST, UET-KPK, UET-Taxila, UOG, IBA Karachi, UAF, LUMS, DUHS, NTU, Sukkur IBA SMEDA, PSF, ICT R&D Fund.

The annual DICE Mega Innovation and Entrepreneurship event is one of the major initiatives of the DICE Program, started in 2007. The idea behind the event is to motivate academia, industry, government, entrepreneurs and expatriates to come to a common platform to showcase innovations and technologies, share knowledge and further collaborate with each other for the rapid development of innovative products, necessary for the socio-economic development of the country.
